Transforming Guest Portraits into Branded Holographic Experiences Through Animated Digital Content
    Executive Summary

For Autodesk’s two-day event held on 19–20 August 2026, 360 Bright Media delivered an innovative Hologram Box Experience that transformed attendee photographs into personalized animated holographic content.

The two-day engagement covered two distinct Autodesk events: Autodesk Imagine Awards 2026 on 19 August and the Autodesk Design and Make Summit on 20 August.

Guests approached the activation and stood in front of a dedicated capture wall, where their photographs were taken. The captured images were then digitally processed and transformed into animated visual content. The final personalized animation was displayed inside a Hologram Box, complete with Autodesk branding and a QR code that allowed attendees to access and download their content.

By combining photography, animation, holographic display technology, personalization, and instant digital delivery, the activation created a futuristic guest experience aligned with Autodesk’s world of design, technology, and digital creativity.

    Background

Autodesk’s two-day program brought together two different event experiences under a common environment of design, innovation, technology, and creativity.

On 19 August, the Autodesk Imagine Awards 2026 created a recognition-focused environment celebrating achievements and excellence.

On 20 August, the experience continued with the Autodesk Design and Make Summit, shifting the focus toward design, technology, innovation, and the future of making.

360 Bright Media was tasked with creating an engagement experience that could work effectively across both formats while remaining visually distinctive and memorable.

The result was a personalized Hologram Box activation that turned each attendee into part of the digital experience.

    Business Challenge

With two different Autodesk events taking place across consecutive days, the activation needed to remain relevant to both an awards environment and an innovation-focused summit.

    The experience needed to:

    • Deliver a premium technology-driven interaction.
    • Work consistently across both event days.
    • Create personalized content for individual attendees.
    • Reflect the innovative character of the Autodesk events.
    • Move beyond conventional event photography.
    • Incorporate Autodesk branding directly into the output.
    • Give participants an easy way to access their content.
    • Create a visually engaging experience capable of attracting surrounding attendees.

    Objectives

Create a futuristic engagement experience for Autodesk attendees.

    • Transform conventional photography into animated digital content.
    • Personalize the experience for every participant.
    • Showcase the final output through holographic technology.
    • Integrate Autodesk branding into the participant journey.
    • Enable easy digital access through QR codes.
    • Deliver one cohesive activation across two different Autodesk events.
    • Create memorable and shareable digital takeaways.

    Our Solution

360 Bright Media designed and executed a customized Hologram Box Experience built around a complete guest journey—from physical photography to animated holographic output.

Participants first stood in front of the designated capture wall, where their photograph was taken.

The captured image was then digitally transformed into an animated version of the participant.

Once processed, the personalized animation appeared inside the Hologram Box with event branding, creating the impression of the participant being brought to life within a futuristic digital display.

A dedicated QR code accompanied the content, allowing the participant to scan and access their personalized output.
    The entire journey connected:

Photography → Digital Transformation → Animation → Holographic Display → Branded Content → QR Access

    Experience Design

    Step 1 – Photo Capture

The experience began at a dedicated photography area. Participants stood in front of the capture wall, where their photograph was taken.
The process was intentionally simple, ensuring attendees could move smoothly through the activation while still receiving a personalized output.

    Step 2 – Animated Transformation

Once captured, the participant’s photograph entered the digital processing workflow. The static image was transformed into an animated visual, giving movement and life to the original photograph.

This step differentiated the experience from a conventional photo booth by turning a standard portrait into dynamic digital content.

Step 3 – Hologram Box Experience

The personalized animated visual was then displayed inside the Hologram Box. Instead of simply seeing their photograph on a conventional screen, attendees could watch their animated version appear within the holographic display environment.

The unusual presentation created a strong visual reveal and helped turn each personalized output into an experience rather than simply another event photograph.

    Step 4 – Autodesk Branding

Autodesk branding was incorporated into the digital presentation, ensuring that every personalized output remained connected to the event.
The branding transformed the content into a customized event memory rather than a generic animated portrait.

This created a balance between personalization and brand visibility throughout the participant experience

Step 5 – QR Code & Digital Access

A QR code was integrated into the experience to provide participants with convenient access to their personalized content.
Once their animation had been generated and displayed, guests could scan the QR code and access the digital output on their own device.
This extended the interaction beyond the physical Hologram Box and gave attendees a digital memory they could retain after the event.

    Technology Stack

    The activation incorporated:

    • Professional Photo Capture System
    • Digital Image Processing
    • Portrait Animation Technology
    • Animated Content Generation
    • Hologram Box Display
    • Holographic Content Playback
    • Customized Autodesk Branding
    • QR Code Generation
    • Digital Content Access
    • Interactive Guest Workflow
    • Event Content Management
    • On-site Technical Operations & Support

360 Bright Media managed the complete operation of the Hologram Box Experience across both Autodesk events.

    Day One – 19 August 2026

    Autodesk Imagine Awards 2026
The Hologram Box activation formed part of the guest engagement experience during the Imagine Awards.

Attendees had their photographs captured, transformed into animated visuals, and presented through the branded holographic display.
The experience provided guests with a futuristic personalized memory alongside the awards celebration.

    Day Two – 20 August 2026

    Autodesk Design and Make Summit
The same activation continued during the Design and Make Summit.

Within an environment centered around design, technology, and innovation, the transformation from a physical photograph into animated holographic content provided attendees with an interactive example of how digital technology can reshape a familiar
    experience.

    Operational Responsibilities

    360 Bright Media managed:

    • Hologram Box installation
    • Photography setup
    • Guest photo capture
    • Image processing workflow
    • Animated content generation
    • Holographic content deployment
    • Autodesk branding integration
    • QR code integration
    • Digital content delivery
    • Participant assistance
    • Technical monitoring
    • Continuous on-site support

    Results & Impact

The Hologram Box transformed traditional event photography into a personalized technology experience across both Autodesk event days.

    Key Outcomes

    • Successfully delivered one experiential activation across two distinct Autodesk events.
    • Converted attendee photographs into personalized animated content.
    • Presented individual outputs through a visually distinctive Hologram Box.
    • Integrated Autodesk branding into the personalized experience.
    • Enabled attendees to access their content through QR codes.
    • Created digital memories that could extend beyond the physical event.
    • Introduced a futuristic alternative to conventional photo booth engagement.
    • Created a strong connection between physical participation and digital transformation.

    Attendee Response

The transformation process created a natural sense of anticipation.

Guests first experienced a familiar action—having their photograph taken—but the final result was significantly different from traditional event photography.

Seeing their static portrait transformed into an animated version and then displayed inside the Hologram Box created the key reveal moment.

The addition of the QR code allowed attendees to move from viewing their personalized holographic content at the activation to accessing it directly on their own devices, completing the physical-to-digital journey

The strength of the activation came from transforming something familiar into something unexpected.

Taking a photograph required almost no learning from the participant. However, instead of immediately receiving a conventional picture, the guest watched that photograph evolve into animated content and appear within a holographic display.

This created a clear experiential journey:

    Capture → Transform → Reveal → Personalize → Download

The combination of personalized content and Autodesk branding also ensured that the technology wasn’t being used purely as a visual attraction. Every participant left with an experience directly connected to the event.

Most importantly, the concept was versatile enough to work across both the celebratory environment of the Imagine Awards and the innovation-focused environment of the Design and Make Summit.
